Avoid newspapers, because their ink can be imprinted on your carpet. Wrapping your carpet straight and tightly into a roll make sure it has no moisture and remember to wrap it in the direction of its pile. The carpet roll should be placed horizontally on the floor so that its edges do not crease. However, the carpet can be rolled from the beginning around a hard paper roll that will be left over from the edges of the roll, so that when it is erect, the roller rests on the floor and not the edges of the carpet.
When finished, wrap the rug in a rough cotton sheet or hood, re-inserting camphor and leaving the edges of the roll open to ventilate the rug. In summer you close the ends of the roll as a precaution against the moth, while you open them in winter.
