ABADEH

The city of Abadeh is located directly between Shiraz and Isfahan. It does not offer much for a visitor, but useful, good quality carpets are made in this city. Initially, the carpets from Abadeh had vase designs and rather insignificant colors. The rugs had some difficulty trading and the weavers looked for new designs. They were inspired by the Ghashghai nomads who had their summer pastures in the area. The carpets have a red-brown color in combination with blue and with pendants in the middle and corners. The rugs usually have a large hexagon in the middle with a bow or pendant and in the corners, a variation of the Heybatlou design. The field is covered with small images of birds, four-limbed animals along with trees and flowers. They are good rugs with utility as they are very stable, hardened and durable.
